We all know that AdWords policy regarding the display URL is that it needs to contain the root domain for the website where the ad is directing the traffic. But what about websites that live on shared or hosted domains (i.e. wordpress, blogspot), the policy is being adjusted. Now all ads leading to sites on hosted domains will need to have the display URL match the destination URL. For example:
With this adjustment to the policy, ads that don’t include this additional information in their display URLs will be disapproved. A suggested display URL will be provided in the disapproval email notification, but it is a good idea adjust any ads that you think might be affected by this change.
