Improved Google Search - Last week Google rolled out two exciting improvements to Google search. With enhanced search refinements, their technology better understands associations and concepts related to your search. Longer snippets provide additional information and show the words you typed by highlighting them in bold on the page. You can find detailed examples in the official blog post.

YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, Yelp previews - Do clients send you emails full of links? Gmail’s new previews let you view and interact with cool content from YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, and Yelp right inside messages even before you click. Check out the blog post for more details and send your client a video from the Google YouTube Business Channel to see this in action.

Google Moderator on Whitehouse.gov - President Obama used Google Moderator on the White House website to solicit questions from citizens for his town hall meeting last week. This historic event allowed everyone to not only ask the President questions, but to prioritize the questions he addressed. See the responses here and give Google Moderator a try.

Undo Send in Gmail - Ever send an email one second, only to wish you hadn’t the next? Google’s got you covered with Gmail’s new Undo Send feature. While you can’t retract an email that’s already gone, the feature stops messages from being sent for a few seconds after hitting the send button. Enable Undo Send today via the directions noted here and you’ll have a chance to abort mission if needed on your next email.

New Version of Chrome – With the new beta version of Google Chrome, you’ll find speed improvements, as well as additional browsing tools, like form autofill, full page zoom, autoscrollanddrag tabs. Read Google’s new Chrome Blog for more and while you’re there, check out the Chrome Experiments – a collection of interactive apps, games, and artwork built to demonstrate the power of JavaScript and the performance of Chrome.

Search Layers in Maps – Wondering where most coffee shops are in Portland? Hungry for blueberry pancakes in New York? With Search Layers on Google Maps, such searches will show the 10 most relevant results, as well as all of the other results as little red dots. Click on them to get name, address and additional information. Try queries for regular business categories or products or anything the web should know about. Are all of your clients listed?

Friend Connect Gets Geeky - Google Friend Connect API is now available in Labs, making it easy for site owners to add Friend Connect to their site, gadgets, and more. A simple copy and paste of a snippet of code is all it takes. Check out the Code Blog to find out how your clients can further integrate the community that visits their site.

Comment in Google Reader - They’ve taken Google Reader sharing to the next level with Comments. Comments can only be seen by friends of the person who originally shared the item so let the discussions roll. What a great way to share your thoughts on the latest marketing press with your clients. Visit the Google Reader Blog for more.

Google Voice - Google Voice lets you choose one local phone number for up to six phone lines. Once configured, these phones will simultaneously ring allowing one set of digits to reach you at home, at work, on your cell, or anywhere you may dwell. Currently open to GrandCentral users only.
